Who: In 2014, Yann Mathys and Thibault Dussex opened the product and industrial design studio Egli Studio, dedicated to rationality, sustainability and environmental responsibility.

When: Easy Aluminium won the Design Award, Rapperswil-Jona, in 2018. Previously, Hypershelf had won the Prix Piguet Galland, Renens in 2016, and Reverso the Iconic Award, Cologne in 2016 and a Swiss Design Award in 2014.

Where: Egli Studio have shown their products at venues including Swiss Love Design and NOV gallery, Salone Del Mobile Milano, and at the Pure Design Talent Contest 15th anniversary, Cologne, in 2018, as well as at 3daysofdesign, Copenhagen in 2017.

What: Easy Aluminium is an outdoor table and bench system, based on a highly flexible connection system that allows a great range of sizes and heights. Made entirely from aluminium, the robust design is light to ship and easy to assemble.

While simple in its complete form, its individual parts require high-end tooling, making it hard to copy and thus preserving exclusivity for the producer. The anodised surfaces allow the integration of a wide palette of colours, making it easy to adapt to specific spaces and tastes.

Easy Aluminium has been supported by the Ikea Foundation Switzerland and Pro Helvetia, and was awarded the Design Prize by the Gebert Stiftung für Kultur.

Why: Egli Studio continues to sharpen its focus with the development of new designs, while working for many public and private clients.
